Flat Rock Gutter Repair
Gutters experience exposure to the elements every single day. This can lead to holes, cracks, and other forms of damage. If there are small areas of damage, we can perform a gutter repair with waterproof sealants or patch kits. There may be a need to replace areas of gutters if extensive damage is present.
If the hangers that suspend the gutters on your home experience damage or loosen from the gutters, this can lead to sagging. If gutters are not level, this can prevent water from flowing in the correct direction. This can impede drainage and cause water damage to your residence.
You can help prevent damage to your gutters by performing routine maintenance. This includes removing leaves and other debris from your gutters each season. In between cleanings, watch for water spilling over your gutters in areas that are prone to collecting debris. This is a sign of a blockage that is preventing water flow.
There are other signs that signal gutter problems.
- Peeling paint
- Rust or corrosion
- Pooling water near your foundation
- Visible dents or gaps
The positioning of your downspouts is also important. Downspouts should extend away from your home and be in areas that are low-lying in comparison to your gutters. Ideally, a downspout should be in place every 30 to 40 feet on a home. Most residences have them on corners. If you have a large home with larger runs, there may be a need for multiple downspouts on each side.
We recommend you inspect your gutters from ground level after a storm. Strong winds, precipitation, and cold temperatures can cause problems. You may want to consider gutter guards if you frequently experience debris buildup in your gutters. Call us if you notice anything amiss.
